Overview

The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. Abacus Plumbing is a part of Wrench Group and the CFO will coordinate all financial functions with the Wrench Group leadership

Responsibilities

  •  Oversee all accounting, finance, payroll, and IT functions for all Abacus locations.
  •  Provide leadership to all reporting departments including evaluating individual performance, coaching, and discipline.
  •  Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial information (budgets, trends, variances, and key indicators) related to the financial performance of Abacus, and provide recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Assist Abacus and Wrench Group management with strategic input, and leadership in all department-related matters affecting the business (projects, contracts, potential alliances, acquisitions, or mergers).
  • Develop, implement, and enforce department-related policies and procedures that improve the governance, and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Oversee the month-end-close within the allotted timeframe.
  • Oversee the Capex budget and expenditure process for all Abacus locations.
  • Oversee department-related audits and audit requests.
  • Create, implement, and administer the compensation bonus plans for all Abacus positions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize cash flows. Including a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Oversee the security and integrity of company data, IT equipment, systems and infrastructure.
  • Continuous improvement of the processes and effectiveness of all reporting functions (finance, payroll, accounting, and IT).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Finance, Accounting, and preferably also an MBA.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Management experience.
  • Ability to systematically analyze complex issues and data.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and leadership in strategic planning and cost-effective growth management strategies.

  • Knowledge of financial and budgetary planning control.

  • Established leadership role within Finance with a minimum of ten years experience, preferably reporting to a CEO.
